About the Author:
Zee was born into a farming community on the North York Moors in 1956. She enjoyed a typical country upbringing surrounded by fields, trees and extended family. She always loved all animals and throughout her early life she had a variety of animals as companions. From being a toddler she always had at least one dog but often several more who provided protection and unconditional love. In the words of her late mum ‘she always had at least one dog hanging on to her clothes so there is no wonder she can write stories from their point of view’. She remained on the family farm until she was 35 when she flew the nest to explore a different world. She held a variety of jobs around the care industry until she was 60 when she finally published her first novel which found a niche audience of readers from a wide age range. To her knowledge her youngest reader is about 2 and her eldest is 90 years young and all the ages between. The success of her first novel inspired her to complete her second one closely followed by her 3rd. This is her 4th novel hot off the press. She has many more ideas waiting in her head so expects to release many more over the next few years. All her stories are amusing feel good tales that have a social message to impart. They are all standalone books but will make up a series as time goes by. Her ambition is to one day have a smallholding where she was born and brought up where she can raise and observe a variety of different animals to keep ideas for her stories fresh and new.
Zee ‘C’ has previously published “Scruffy” in October 2016:
along with “Dizzy Izzy” in October 2017:
and “Scruffy and Maisie” in June 2018:
Excerpt from “Dizzy Izzy and the Singer”:
“Hi I’m Izzy, no Queen Izzy, and I believe you are a squirrel as I met some yesterday.”
“Hi Queen Izzy, yes I am a squirrel, and my name is Sarah. I have a nest up there with my babies in but they are too little at the moment to come down here. I didn’t know we had a queen of the fairies although I often see a number of fairies and elves around the bottom of the waterfall when I go for a drink.”
“Yes, those are the fairies that elected me Queen yesterday, no sorry the day before, and I am still exploring my kingdom. I spent quite a while this morning exploring Penny’s garden and yesterday I explored the waterfall right up to top. I met the deer at the top and then the wild goats on the side of the waterfall. Bertie, the male goat, gave me a lift to the clearing where I met a mummy fox and a family of squirrels as well as several rabbits. Today I have been to see the deer and goats again to arrange for them all to meet Penny the day after tomorrow,” explained Izzy.
“Who is this Penny you keep mentioning?” asked Sarah.
“Penny lives in the cottage near the waterfall. The fairies and elves had begun to develop her garden for their use before I came to live with her but then we found out she is one of those special humans who can see and talk to fairies and elves and can talk to animals too,” replied Izzy.”
